Success in Dumfries
Our 2 candidates running for Town Council in Dumfries were the top choice of the voters and were overwhelmingly elected. 5 Candidates were running for 3 Council slots, Willie Toney received 301 votes followed closely by Helen Reynolds with 295. Toney was an incumbent, while Reynolds was a newcomer to the race. The results: Willie Toney 301; Helen Reynolds 295; Cliff Brewer, who took the third slot 226; Dorothea Barr 200; Derrick Wood 155.
A special thanks from all of us to the Potomac Magisterial District, who organized much of the campaign, designed the literature, knocked doors and made phone calls; and the Prince William County Young Democrats for their canvassing effort to elect two good Democrats.
Congrats to Helen and Willie!
