Restoration of Voting Rights
On July 26, 2012, at the regular meeting of the Prince William County Democratic Committee held at the McCoart County Building in Prince William, VA a special program will be presented by Marc Mauer, Executive Director of the Sentencing Project, a national expert on sentencing and restoration of rights and Bobby Vassar, Minority Counsel to the House Judiciary Committee Sub-Committee on Terrorism and Former Chairman of the Virginia Parole Board. The special program will look at Virginia’s record on restoration of voting rights and comparisons to other states, as well as what would need to be done to change Virginia’s existing policy.
