UPDATED:  Rain date is Sunday at 8:30 am.  We will meet at the Ruby Tuesday parking lot, just off Ridgefield Rd and the PW Parkway.  It is supposed to be cooler, sunny and less humid.  See you there!

The July meeting for the Coles Magisterial District will be Saturday morning at 9:00 am, July 17  2010.  We will be meeting in the Cedar Run conference room, near the back of the McCoart building.  

Coles Magisterial District

The Coles Magisterial District meets the third Saturday of every month at the McCoart Government Center. The meeting starts at 9 am. The chair is Jim O’Connor and you can reach him at kjamesoconnor@comcast.net.

Barack Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. His father, Barack Obama Sr., was born and raised in a small village in Kenya, where he grew up herding goats with his own father, who was a domestic servant to the British. Barack's mother, Ann Dunham, grew up in small-town Kansas. Her father worked on oil rigs during the Depression, and then signed up for World War II after Pearl Harbor, where he marched across Europe in Patton's army. Her mother went to work on a bomber assembly line, and after the war, they studied on the G.I. Bill, bought a house through the Federal Housing Program, and moved west to Hawaii.

Charles J. Colgan was born in Frostburg, Maryland September 25, 1926. When he was five, he lost both parents, he and three siblings were split among relatives. Chuck and his younger brother lived with their grandparents on a farm, and during the depression the banks foreclosed their home and the family lost nearly everything they owned.

Senator Linda T. "Toddy" Puller was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1991 where she served for eight years. In 1999, she was elected to the Virginia Senate's 36th District and was re-elected in 2003.

George Barker is a proven community leader, tackling important issue to improve our quality of life in Northern Virginia. He has been a founder of several groups and chaired a numerous organizations, often building consensus on solutions for difficult problems.

George’s excellent work for us has not gone unnoticed, as he has received many awards, including Fairfax County Citizen of the Year and Lord Fairfax.
